Catholic teachers have ratified an agreement with the province.
“We worked hard to address our members’ concerns and believe this agreement protects them, as well as the quality of education in our schools,” Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) president Ann Hawkins said in a statement Friday.
The vote was held Thursday; the union represents more than 50,000 teachers from kindergarten to Grade 12.
“We’re now looking forward to a productive and enriching school year for both teachers and students,” Hawkins said.
The tentative deal with the province was reached Aug. 25, with teachers dropping their work-to-rule campaign.
