A Mississauga retail outlet sold the winning ticket for the largest jackpot in Lotto 6/49 history.

Saturday night’s $64 million draw was the biggest-ever offered in Canada, said Ontario Lottery and Gaming VP of lottery marketing and sales Wendy Montgomery.

Tickets were sold until 10:30 p.m. last night.

The last drool-worthy jackpot was April 13, 2013 with $63.4 million. It was split between four winning tickets – all sold out west, with three purchased in British Columbia.

LOTTO 6/49 BY THE NUMBERS

  • A jackpot was last won on September 5, 2015. The amount was $7 million. Since then the jackpot has rolled over 11 times.
  • A jackpot greater than $30 million has been won 35 times.
  • Lucky sevens? The top number sequence chosen by players is 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42.
  • The most frequently drawn numbers are 31, 45 and 40.

Two winning $1 million Lotto Max tickets were sold in Mississauga for the June 5, 2015 draw: one at the Esso station on Leanne Blvd. and Erin Mills Pkwy., just north of the QEW, and another at Westdale Mall, at 1151 Dundas St. W.

The Lotto Max jackpot for Friday, Oct. 23 is $50 million.
