A 47-year-old Brampton woman – currently before the courts for allegedly defrauding the public – has been arrested and is facing new accusations.

The suspect is accused of committing fraud over a two year period, targeting victims from the South Asian and Muslim communities in Brampton and Mississauga.
The woman convinced victims to invest in her business ventures, promising to return the money with a profit within two weeks, defrauding various victims of more than $79,000, said Peel Police.
The suspect was initially arrested and charged in Jan. 2014.
Peel Police made another arrest Dec. 7 after new complaints surfaced last month alleging more fraudulent activity by the accused.
Nuzhat Mamoon, also known as Umme Rubab, is charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000, and two counts of breach recognizance.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and are asking them to get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to call (905) 453-2121 ext. 3330 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
