Missing fentanyl patches turn up at Malton nursing home

Fentanyl patches have surfaced after a package went missing from a government-run nursing home in northeast Mississauga.
“Charges are not being laid,” said Peel Regional Police Const. Bally Saini.
A public safety advisory was issued by police on Nov. 14 after a box of Teva-Fentanyl was missing following a delivery to Malton Village at 7075 Rexwood Rd.
The Region of Peel runs the 160-bed long-term care facility, just west of Hwy. 427 at Rexdale Blvd.

The highly addictive opiod patch is immediately absorbed upon contact with skin and can harm or even kill if ingested.
Fentanyl also went missing Nov. 5 from Trillium Health Centre at 150 Sherway Dr.
Toronto Police released a safety alert last month in connection with the disappearance.
Anyone finding the medication is asked not to handle it and to phone police at 416-808-2200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
