$1.05M lottery win for two Mississauga women

CORRECTION: The original headline and story said the women won $1.5 million instead of $1.05 million.

Two lucky Mississauga ladies are celebrating separate lottery wins totalling $1.05 million.
Arlene Asis won $1 million from the Dec. 30 Lotto 649 draw.
“The winning ticket was folded in my wallet for three weeks,” said Asis, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her winnings.
“When I scanned it on the self-checker I thought I won $10,000 but when I handed it over to be validated, I realized I’d actually won $1 million. I couldn’t believe it – I was jumping, crying and shaking.”
Asis is planning to pay off her mortgage and some debts. After sharing her good fortune with family, she’s taking a cruise to celebrate her anniversary and birthday.
“This win means financial stability for my whole family,” Asis said.
Her winning ticket was bought at a Petro Canada station on Derry Rd.
Leslie Regalado Alba scored her $50,000 prize from the Jan. 19 Daily Keno draw after buying a ticket at One Stop Ticket Shop on King St. in Toronto.
