The province’s Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate following a collision near Mississauga Valley which seriously injured two people.
Peel Police were attempting a traffic stop near Burnhamthorpe Rd. E. and Central Pkwy. E. shortly after 10 p.m. when the car they were targeting swerved into oncoming traffic.
The car struck two other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
A woman, 70, and man, 69, were in one of those vehicles and both suffered serious injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency investigating reports involving police and civilians where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
