Oakville man charged in fatal Hwy. 27 crash

A 21-year-old Oakville man is charged in connection with the death of an elderly man on Hwy. 27.

Toronto Police responded to a personal injury crash at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. in the northbound lanes, south of Humber College Blvd.
The suspect was driving a Kia, striking a Toyota, which collided with a Nissan, said Const. Clint Stibbe.
The Toyota and Nissan crossed into the southbound lanes, where they were hit by a dump truck.
The Toyota driver, 72, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Road closures were in effect for several hours during the investigation.

Albert Opoku is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
He’s scheduled to appear in Toronto court Wednesday.
The investigation is ongoing.
