A female teacher at a Catholic elementary school in Port Credit is accused of sexually assaulting a student.
The woman, who works at St. James Catholic Global Learning Centre on Wanita Dr. was arrested earlier this week and appeared in Brampton court June 7.
Amanda Perreault, 27, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, luring to commit invitation to sexual touching, and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
This marks the second case of a female school employee being charged with an alleged sex crime in Peel Region this month.
In Brampton, a North Park teaching assistant was charged last week.
Nakeshia Lowe, 27, is facing two charges in connection with that case.
The suspect “has been assigned to home since the allegations were made and will remain assigned to home, pending the disposition of the charges,” North Park principal Pradeep Rajah told parents in a letter.
