UPDATED: SIU investigating after man injured as cops search Mississauga home

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is invoking its mandate after a 65-year-old man was seriously injured as Peel Police were executing a search warrant in Mississauga.
The incident took place at 5 a.m. Thursday at a home on Pedalina Dr. in the Hurontario St. and Eglinton Ave. area.
A confrontation resulted in the man being Tasered inside the home. He was arrested and transported to Credit Valley Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a broken rib. Witnesses are asked to phone 1-800-787-8529. The SIU is a civilian agency investigating death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault in incidents involving police.
