Sex trade workers are being warned about a man wanted in connection with the disappearance of a Markham woman whom police now believe is dead.
Jiarui (Jerry) Tang, 21, of Toronto, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for manslaughter in connection with the disappearance of 36-year-old Ying Chun (Annie) Li.
Tang is believed to be in the GTA and frequents Toronto’s Chinatown area.
Detectives with the York Regional Police homicide squad believe Tang has recently attempted to hire female sex trade workers.
The suspect “poses a significant threat to these women and we are warning anyone who encounters him in person or online to use caution and contact police immediately,” reads a news release issued Wednesday night.
Tang is being urged by police to get a lawyer and turn himself in.
Call 911 if you spot Tang, police warn.
Li was last seen by her family on June 12 near Denison St. and Markham Rd.
Anyone with information is asked to phone 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
