Two new GO train trips are being added along the Milton line starting Sept. 6, in addition to increased parking at Streetsville and Square One, transportation minister Steven Del Duca announced Thursday.
“We are making it easier for commuters in Mississauga to access the GO network and get to where they need to go,” said Del Duca in a news release.
Metrolinx is adding one morning and one afternoon GO train trip between Milton and Toronto.
It’s stopping at all Mississauga stations: Lisgar, Meadowvale, Streetsville, Erindale, Cooksville and Dixie. The new trips will run as follows:
-A new trip will depart from Milton GO Station at 5:59 a.m. each weekday, making all stops to Union Station and arriving at 7 a.m.
-A new trip will depart from Union Station at 5:55 p.m. each weekday, making all stops to Milton GO Station and arriving at 6:54 p.m.
In addition, construction begins this fall to add more than 250 parking spaces at the Streetsville GO, bringing the total number of available spaces to about 1,700.
It’s expected to be completed in early 2018.
“The additional parking spots and train trips are welcome news to constituents in my riding, who use GO Transit every day,” said Mississauga-Streetsville MPP Bob Delaney in a statement.
Square One will be receiving 130 new parking spaces at the bus terminal, bringing the total number of available parking spaces to more than 330, with completion expected next spring.
