Low-income residents who use Mississauga transit have until Sept. 30 to apply for the MiWay Affordable Transportation Pilot Program.

The application deadline has been extended by one month, meaning youth, adults and seniors living below low-income measure thresholds can apply to receive 50 per cent off monthly Presto passes.
An adult would pay $65 instead of $130, while a senior would pay $30.50 instead of $61 with a subsidized pass.
Residents earning an individual income of $19,930 or below are eligible to apply on a first-come, first-served basis up to a maximum of 2,500 participants.
The pilot is running from June 1, 2016 to February 28, 2017.
Click here to apply, and call 905-791-7800 ext. 8703 or e-mail affordabletransitpilot@peelregion.ca for more information.
Keep in mind, the $1 cash fare for seniors continues until results and recommendations on the Affordable Transportation Pilot are presented to councillors.
