“We’re listening to our customers who asked for a more reliable bus service and real-time updates,” said director of transit Geoff Marinoff in a news release.

Changes are part of the MiWay Five transit service plan.

Updates are provided using GPS technology, “allowing riders to plan their trips with more confidence,” said Marinoff.

Information will be refreshed every 60 seconds for scheduled routes and buses.

The real-time updates will be available through MiWay’s ‘plan a trip’ tool, digital signs at City Centre Terminal and Mississauga Transitway stations, and the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) open data webpage.
