Funeral details have been announced for a 15-year-old Mississauga girl who died after being struck by a SUV in the Erin Mills-Meadowvale area.
Madeleine Petrielli died Dec. 2 after crossing Britannia Rd. W. near Glen Erin Dr., trying to catch a bus.
Paramedics treated and transported Petrielli to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Vigils have taken place at the site each day since.

“I love you all for all of the love that you have shown Madeleine,” wrote Petrielli’s mother, Nicole Burnat, in a Facebook post.
“She is smiling down at all of you right now.”
More than $17,000 has been raised for the St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School student’s funeral.
Visitation takes place at Turner & Porter Neweduk Erin Mills Chapel at 1981 Dundas St. W. in Mississauga during the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. then 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The funeral is scheduled at the same location on Friday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m.
At least 20 people have died in 2016 collisions in Peel Region.
