Witnesses are being asked to come forward after a Brampton crash killed a Woodbridge woman, sending three people – including a child – to hospital.
Peel police say the incident took place Dec. 5 at 7 a.m.
That’s when a black Hyundai Sonata was travelling northbound on Hwy. 50 at Cottrelle Blvd.
The Sonata, turning westbound onto Cottrelle, collided with a southbound transport truck in the intersection.
The vehicle then struck a black Acura which was stopped at the intersection.
Nirmala Bhandari, 77, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three passengers – Veena Bhandari, 52, Neha Bhandari, 29, and Diya Bhandari, 6 – were transported to Toronto trauma centres and all remain in serious but stable condition.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, have video footage of the incident, or who may have information regarding the actions of the drivers prior to the collision.
Tips can be directed to investigators with the major collision bureau at (905) 453-2121 ext. 3710 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
