A 19-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge following the shooting death of a Toronto teen in Malton.
The suspect was arrested in Chatham, Ont. on Jan. 26, say Peel cops.
The alleged incident took place Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 at 1 a.m. outside of the Habibi Lounge, near Derry and Airport roads.
That’s where first responders were sent for an altercation, finding the victim, Sharmarke Farah, 17, with obvious signs of trauma.
Paramedics rushed Farah to hospital, where he died.
Investigators allege another bullet “separate and apart from the one that killed the victim” was fired at the victim’s group.
Mahad Abdi, of no fixed address, is scheduled to appear in Brampton court Friday for a bail hearing.
Witnesses and others in the area at the time of the incident are asked to phone the homicide and missing persons bureau at (905) 453-2121 ext. 3205 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477.
