The Lorne Park library is officially 50-years-old on Saturday, marking a half-century of civic pride in Mississauga’s south end.
Under the 2004 Library Master Plan – which called for the redevelopment of the Port Credit Branch due to age, mechanical lifecycle issues and functionality – the Lorne Park location was redeveloped with the Port Credit and Lakeview branches for roughly $8 million.
The project received Governor General’s Medals in Architecture in 2012.
Bibliophiles, take note: National Library Week is being celebrated across the U.S. from April 9 to 15.
