Mississauga teens charged after stabbing sends man to trauma centre

A 19-year-old Mississauga man – one of two local teens facing charges – is in court today in connection with a stabbing in the Bloor St. and Dixie Rd. area.

Cops responded to the incident around 9 p.m. Sunday on Queen Frederica Dr. and quickly collared two suspects nearby, Peel Regional Police Const. Thomas Ruttan confirmed.

The victim, also a 19-year-old man, was taken to a Toronto trauma centre and remains in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Viren Sarin, 19, is charged with aggravated assault, failure to comply with recognizance, and possession of a controlled substance.

Brock Ruppert, 18, is charged with obstructing a peace officer and is being released on a promise to appear in Brampton court Oct. 20.
