The “big four” will get you ticketed this turkey weekend, and the timing is no coincidence.
With 15 road-related deaths this year, cops are ramping up enforcement.
They’re honing in on impaired, aggressive and distracted driving, and seatbelt violations as part of Operation Impact, running today through Monday across Canada.
“It’s a big weekend because there’s so many people on the roads,” said Peel Regional Police Const. Rachel Gibbs.
More people are traveling due to the holiday, and collisions are more frequent, said cops.
Ontario Provincial Police are also taking part in the initiative.
Today is the last day of its Ontario wide seatbelt campaign, with close to 5,000 tickets issued.
