A 23-year-old Mississauga man has been arrested for impaired driving and is in the trauma unit with serious injuries.
Peel Regional Police Const. George Tudos said “with all the messages about drinking and driving, especially at this time of year,” some drivers are still disregarding the law and taking chances behind the wheel.
Emergency crews responded to a call in Brampton at 2:39 a.m. on Mississauga Rd. between Embleton Rd. and Queen St.
The suspect was driving a Honda Civic when he lost control of the vehicle and flipped.
The Civic struck an unoccupied parked vehicle – which is a complete write-off – then landed next to a house.
The man was airlifted by Ornge to a trauma centre, where he remains in stable condition.
Peel’s major collision bureau is investigating and charges are pending.
Another man was arrested Nov. 27 for impaired driving on Mississauga’s Ellengale Dr.
The festive R.I.D.E. campaign began last week and runs until January 2.
