A rifle has been snatched during a break-in at a Brampton home, marking the second case of firearm theft in four weeks, two kilometres apart.
“It’s a concern because it’s another gun on the street,” said Peel Regional Police Const. George Tudos.
The incident took place in a densely populated area known for gang activity, prompting cops to issue a public safety alert Saturday.
Officers responded to a call at 1 p.m. Friday at a home near Bramalea Rd. and Clark Blvd., just east of the Bramalea City Centre, where a long rifle and electronics were reported stolen.
The victims were not home and police have no suspect descriptions.
The rifle is described as a black Winchester Bolt Action .270 calibre rifle with scope.
