A 19-year-old woman was assaulted while walking in Brampton and police are warning residents to be cautious.
Peel Police allege the sexually motivated attack took place last night at 10 p.m. in the McLaughlin Rd. and Kingknoll Dr. area, west of Hurontario St. and Hwy. 407.
An unknown man approached the woman from behind and produced a weapon.
The suspect grabbed the victim and pulled her into a nearby parking lot where he attempted to sexually assault her.
The victim was able to break free, and the suspect fled the area.
The special victims unit is investigating.
The man is described as dark-skinned, with no accent.
He was wearing a black sweater with a hood.
Police are reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious people or activity.
