A trailer carrying hundreds of 55-inch TVs worth $375,000 was stolen from a Mississauga truck compound, and police are warning residents to be skeptical of a great deal.
“If someone approaches you trying to sell a TV for cash, it might be one of the stolen TVs we’re looking for,” said Peel Regional Police Const. George Tudos.
“Don’t be a victim.”
The commercial auto crime unit is investigating after 495 LG televisions were looted last Sunday.
One or more suspects entered a Columbus Rd. trucking yard near Dixie and Derry roads, and once inside, removed a trailer containing the LED/LCD televisions.
The empty trailer was located in Toronto on Dec. 8.
Contact police if you see advertisements or hear of anyone selling 55-inch TVs for cash, said Tudos.
Tipsters or witnesses can call (905) 453-2121 ext. 3315 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
