
Snapchatting about New Year’s plans? The city has a message it wants you to send.
“Tell your friends to join you on MiWay for a free ride on New Year’s Eve,” said director of transit Geoff Marinoff.
Bus fare is being waived on New Year’s Eve from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. January 1.
Service hours will be extended on routes departing from local malls, GO stations and the Islington subway station, for those travelling after midnight.

Whether it’s taking the bus or calling a cab, Peel Police are reminding residents to plan ahead.
“Alcohol can last for hours in your system, even after you’ve stopped drinking,” said Const. Bally Saini.
“Showering it off doesn’t make you sober.”
A $50 cab ride, she said, is worth spending, versus thousands of dollars in legal fees.
Thousands of people are expected to take in a free concert at Celebration Square, with Grandtheft and Trevor Guthrie among the featured guests.
Skating, food trucks, and fireworks are also lined up.
The party runs from 8 p.m. until 12:15 a.m.
Reduced weekday bus service begins December. 21 until January 3.
