Stop procrastinating and get your snow tires on, says everyone and your mother.
The Winter Ready campaign is underway, urging motorists to be prepared — 49 per cent of Ontarians admit the mild winter delayed installation of snow tires this year, according to an Ipsos poll.
One-third of the 800 respondents said they normally have winter tires installed long before the first snow fall, while the majority – 57 per cent –  said they do it once the temperature drops or snow is expected.
“Winter driving poses unique challenges. Take the time to prepare for sudden and unexpected changes to the weather and the roads,” said Insurance Bureau of Canada Ontario VP Kim Donaldson.
Being cautious and prepared behind the wheel could save your life, Donaldson added.
Canadian Tire is supporting the campaign by giving away sets of winter tires to Twitter users who engage with @WinterReady2016 using hashtag  #WinterReady.
Events will be held at stores across the province to raise awareness.
