A suspect is accused of walking into the Tim Hortons in Lorne Park and fleeing with the cash register overnight.
Peel Police responded at 3 a.m. at 780 S. Sheridan Way, west of Mississauga Rd.
No injuries were reported, said Const. Mark Fischer.
Officers believe the man acted alone.
He attempted to break open the till while still in the restaurant, when an employee confronted him.
The suspect challenged him and the employee backed down.
There’s damage to the till, however, and man made off with cash.
The suspect is white, in his 50s, with a medium build.
He was wearing dark clothing and last seen driving a black pickup truck.
Officers from the 11 Division criminal investigation bureau have the case.
Anyone with information is asked to phone (905) 453-2121 ext. 3311 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
