A 42-year-old Oakville man is facing charges in connection with a $2.1 million health-care fraud probe.

OPP began investigating APKA Health in 2014. The Scarborough-based company, a registered vendor of mobility aids, is accused of conspiring with several authorizers of mobility devices to provide products to clients who weren’t qualified.
Police began looking into the company following a complaint from the provincial health ministry’s assistive devices program.
Ajay Uppal is charged with fraud over $5,000.
His Toronto court date is set for Aug. 24.
