Operation Dry Water is exactly what it sounds like — a blitz discouraging drinking alcohol while boating.

Drinking and boating accounts for 40 per cent of boating-related deaths on Canadian waterways, say Peel Police as they join the Canadian Safe Boating Council in its annual national campaign.
The initiative is focusing on the potential risks of impaired boating, and remedies currently in place to discourage it.

Motorists aren’t exempt, though.
The road safety unit will be doing a R.I.D.E. campaign targeting impaired drivers, said Const. Rachel Gibbs.
Police are encouraging drivers to plan ahead if they’re planning to drink.

OPP are also out on highways with a ‘move over’ blitz.
