A 21-year-old Mississauga man is facing charges in connection with a Scarborough bank robbery which was derailed by a customer in line.
The incident took place Aug. 19 in the Lawrence Ave. E. and Kennedy Rd. area around 4 p.m.
Toronto Police allege the man went into a bank, bypassed waiting customers, and handed a teller a note saying he had a gun and demanding money.
After receiving cash, the suspect began banging on the counter, demanding more money from other bank employees.
A customer who had been waiting in line intervened, physically grabbing the man, said police.
A struggled headed into the parking lot, where officers arrived and arrested the suspect.
The customer has minor injuries, said police.
Andre Cardall Hardware is charged with robbery and disguise with intent.
