It’s a convergence of food and ’90s hip-hop.
The third annual SoundBites festival is taking over Celebration Square this evening, starting at 5 p.m.
The event features hardware: The Awestruck Food Truck Awards are being hosted by James Cunningham of Food Network Canada’s Eat St. and Ross Hull from Global News.
Five awards will be handed out: Best Concept, Best Graphics, Best Menu Item, Best New Truck, and People’s Choice.
An estimated 30,000 visitors are expected to follow their noses to the Square, where more than 25 gourmet food trucks will be set up.
The evening also features hip-hop karaoke, followed by a free concert with DJ Jazzy Jeff at 10 p.m.
Fireworks cap off the night at 11 p.m.
Admission is free.
