Mississauga man, boy charged in Yonge-Dundas swarmings

A Mississauga man and boy are facing charges in connection with a series of robberies in the Yonge St. and Dundas St. area, with police searching two more suspects.

Toronto Police allege the six separate robberies took place on Aug. 27 between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m.
That’s when three men and a 17-year-old boy allegedly swarmed a number of people, taking personal property.
In some of the cases, one of the men produced a handgun, say police.
A man and boy – whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act – were arrested, with police finding a replica handgun.
Two men are still outstanding.
Darian Rodriquez, 20, is charged with: five counts of robbery with a firearm; two counts of robbery; five counts of use firearm to commit indictable offence; four counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace; four counts of carry concealed weapon; four counts of possession of property obtained by crime; uttering threats; possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order; possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with; unauthorized possession of a firearm; careless storage of a firearm; possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
A 17 year-old boy, also of Mississauga, has been charged with: : five counts of robbery with a firearm; two counts of robbery; five counts of use firearm to commit indictable offence; four counts of possession of property obtained by crime; three counts of uttering threats; seven counts of fail to comply YCJA disposition.
