A Mississauga man and his best friend are sharing a $1 million Lotto Max prize after matching seven winning numbers playing Encore in the Dec. 9 draw.
Joseph Krupicz says he’s been pals with Michael Luskey of Georgetown since the age of 17.
Luskey went to the store to check the ticket, seeing the words ‘Big Winner’ flash on the screen.
“I kept scanning it again and again,” he said.
Just in time for Christmas, plans are being made for the windfall.
Krupicz says he’ll be investing most of his portion, and buying winter tires.
“This win gives me the freedom to travel more,” he said, adding he has a sister who lives in England.
“Now I will be able to see her more often.”
The winning ticket was purchased at an Esso station on Dixie Rd. in Mississauga.
