A 55-year-old Mississauga man is recovering in hospital and will survive following an accident outside his home.

The man was initally listed in life-threatening condition after falling from a ladder while putting up Christmas lights.”It’s very, very sad,” said Peel Regional Police Const. Lilly Fitzpatrick.
Police responded to a call on Bridlepath Trail, near Mississauga Rd. and Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. at 1 p.m.
A woman inside the man’s home called 911.
Paramedics treated the man and rushed him to a Mississauga hospital.
He was transferred to a Toronto trauma unit.
Fitzpatrick called it an unfortunate accident.
“Christmas is a holiday so closely associated with family,” she said.
Police are reminding residents using any equipment to ensure it’s in working order and “have somebody outside with you,” said Fitzpatrick.
