Luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue is opening its second Canadian store at Sherway Gardens on Feb. 25, a week after the debut of its downtown Eaton Centre flagship location Thursday.
“We are so excited to bring the best of Saks to Toronto,” said Saks Fifth Avenue president Marc Metrick.
“After more than two years of planning, our entry into Canada is truly a milestone for our company. We cannot wait to bring the Saks experience of an elegant edit of the best designer names, coupled with distinctive, personalized service to Toronto.”
The 150,000 square-foot Sherway location is “offering a best in class retail experience for west end shoppers,” said Sherway’s general manager Andy Traynor. Men’s and women’s clothing, as well as handbags and shoes from brands such as Dior, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Chloé, Céline, Prada, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Givenchy and Alaïa will be featured.
When you shop, you must refuel.
Pusateri’s Fine Foods will be introducing the Saks Food Hall at both locations as part of the launch.
At Sherway, Saks Fifth Avenue will also be home to Oliver & Bonacini’s Beaumont Kitchen, serving eclectic west coast cuisine led by Chef Michael Hay.
Located just east of Mississauga along the QEW, Sherway Gardens is undergoing a 50-store expansion and massive $550 million makeover.
The north expansion was completed last Sept. with an additional 210,000 square feet; the updated mall will total 1.3 million square feet. Another American retail king, Nordstrom, is slated to open at Sherway in 2017.
Saks at Sherway will host two in-store cocktail events to celebrate its opening.
