A Mississauga family is celebrating after its patriarch won a $616,037.30 Lottario jackpot from the Feb. 13 draw.
Mahendran Palanisamy, a retired grandfather from Sri Lanka who’s visiting family in Mississauga, said Lottario is his son’s favourite game.
“I bought the ticket on a mild day while I was out for a walk,” said Palanisamy while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings.
“But then we were hit with blowing snow and cold temperatures so I didn’t return to the store to check my numbers for several days. I still can’t believe it.”
Palanisamy said he’s planning on spoiling his children and grandchildren.
“The best gift is the ability to give to others. I am excited to help my two sons purchase new homes,” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased in Cooksville at A&J Convenience on John St.
