A 31-year-old man initially reported missing is now accused of scamming multiple victims in an online cell phone deal.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Goran Drozdek for fraud over $5,000.
Peel Police believe Drozdek, of no fixed address, has been evading arrest after a family member filed a missing persons report last month.
A media release was issued Apr. 27, and since then police say the suspect has “engaged in criminal activity to defraud the public.”
Victims allege the suspect swindled them via a Kijiji post advertising cell phones.
The phones were ordered and never delivered.
A complaint was lodged last February with the Central Ontario Better Business Bureau, detailing a similar scenario with a company called Profasco Inc.
The suspect is described as white, standing 5-foot-8 with a medium build, weighing 160 pounds.
He has short, black, spiky hair and blue eyes, and is known to frequent the Square One area and downtown Brampton.
Police believe he was recently spotted in Niagara Falls.
Investigators are also looking to speak with anyone who has had recent dealings with Drozdek regarding the rental of a Mississauga condo, or a company operating under the name Profasco Inc.
Anyone with information is asked to phone (905)-453-2121 ext. 3335 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
