Half-racks and funnel cakes are front and centre as Amacon Mississauga Rotary Ribfest kicks off at Celebration Square Thursday.
The four-day festival, expected to draw around 100,000 attendees, begins at 11 a.m.
An admission fee of $2 per person or $5 per family is being charged on the festival’s two busiest days, Friday and Saturday, after city council voted in favour of a two-year pilot project last March.
Proceeds are going to various charities.
The 13th annual family-focused event is hosting 14 vendors, or ‘ribbers,’ selling BBQ ribs and chicken.
Live entertainment will be on the main stage, focusing on local talent.
Remember to bring cash.
