A 31-year-old Toronto man has been charged in connection with a sex assault investigation involving three women in southwest Erin Mills.
Byron Reid, identified by Toronto Police nearly five months ago, turned himself in Monday.
Police said a woman, 25, and two friends were in the Dundas St. W. and Winston Churchill Blvd. area on July 6, when their car broke down.
A van pulled up with two men who offered to help and give the women a ride.
While en route, police allege one of the women was sexually assaulted.
The van stopped and two women were allowed to leave.
The van fled, said police, and the third woman was abducted then sexually assaulted by two men.
The woman managed to escape and a passerby phoned 911 after hearing a woman’s call for help in the Weston Rd. and Black Creek Dr. area.
Reid is charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, two counts of gang sexual assault, robbery, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
He is scheduled to appear in Toronto court this afternoon.
