An arrest warrant has been issued for a 35-year-old Brampton man after he failed to appear in court in connection with a human trafficking case in the GTA.
Peel Police are appealing to the public to help track him down.
According to police, a victim contacted them in July 2013 saying a man had introduced her to prostitution.
The victim earned a large sum of money and alleges the man was physically and emotionally abusive, threatening to kill her if she wanted to leave the sex trade.
Police arrested a suspect in relation to the case, charging him with procuring a person to become a prostitute, living on avails of prostitution, exercising control over a person to aid them in engaging in prostitution, trafficking in persons, receiving benefit resulting from trafficking in persons, utter threat to cause death or bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and four counts of assault.
Darren Jordan failed to appear for his Superior Court trial on May 9 and a bench warrant was issued.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the major drugs and vice unit at (905) 453-2121 ext. 3515 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
